Site Walk at 225 North Goshen Road, Goshen CT

Members of Inland Wetlands and Planning and Zoning walked the Ikes Auto Body site at 225 North Goshen Road. First Selectman Seth Breakell, Jessica Cranney from the Torrington Area Health District, and several neighbors joined the site walk. They were hoping to find evidence of materials allegedly dumped and buried on the site. It proved to be a difficult walk due to the bitter cold and several inches of new snow. However, it didn’t stop the commissioners from hiking most of the property. Under the circumstances, it was difficult to identify disturbed ground or any buried materials, although it was easy to see that this was an automobile junk yard at some point in time.  The Inland Wetlands Commission will continue a show cause hearing on January 22, 2026, at 7:15 pm.
