GOSHEN
Carl Gregory Hooper, age 93, died the morning of Sept. 2 at his home of 50 years in Goshen. Carl was born Sept. 22, 1931 in the Bronx to Hilda and Vance Hooper. In addition to his wife Janet, he leaves his children Gregoriann Rollins, Holly Hooper, Carla Hooper Angevine, Britton Kinsella, as well as beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In his memory, donations may be made to The Shane Kinsella Memorial Children's Fund in Goshen.

LITCHFIELD
Carol Ann (Martin) Winters, age 75, passed away on Sept. 24. Carol was born July 3, 1950, in New Milford, Connecticut. to Mona Richardson and the late James Martin. Throughout her life Carol used her green thumb at White Flower Farm and Van Engelen Inc. She is survived by her mother Mona; her daughters Tammy Phillips, Jennifer Aiello, Katherine Ricci; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters; three brothers, and many nieces and nephews.

Louise Harris Moynihan, 91, of Litchfield passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sept. 23, at Litchfield Woods in Torrington. Louise was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Aug. 12, 1933, to Lillian Munn Harris and Howard N. Harris. Louise is survived by her son Thomas K. Moynihan, her sister Patricia Nadeau, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Please contribute to Lourdes of Litchfield to plant a tree in Louise's memory.

David Carlyle Hill, age 71, a beloved resident of Litchfield, Connecticut, passed away on Sept. 13. Born on Nov. 4, 1953, in Washington, Connecticut, to Elmer and Dorothy Hill. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Goodman) Hill; daughters Devin (Hill) Gagnon and Kaitlin Hill, son-in-law Matthew Gagnon, and granddaughter Mae Gagnon. Memorial contributions can be made in David's memory to The Parkinson's Foundation.

Juanita “Betty” McKinnon Locke, 94, of Litchfield died Sept. 10. She was born May 23, 1931 in Springfield, Massachusetts to George and Ronda McKinnon of Litchfield.  Betty is survived by her daughter, Jacalyn Mills and her husband Earl.

TORRINGTON
Celestine C. Taft, age 91, passed away on Sept. 25. Celestine was born March 26, 1934 in Torrington, Connecticut to the late Warren S. and Martha Weingart Clark. She leaves a son, William C. Taft; a brother, Dr. Warren S. Clark and; a grandchild, Bruce Taft; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Alivia Taft and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Celestine requests that well-wishers perform an act of kindness to someone 
in need.

Joseph Barbieri, 92, of Torrington, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 25, after a brief illness. Joe was born August 13, 1933, in Torrington. He met the late Joyce Wiengart, the love of his life in his hometown and they married and had three sons, Ray, Jim, and Brian. He is survived by his three sons and his beloved cat, Nutmeg. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Care Fund of the Litchfield Hills, or a local cat shelter, in honor of Nutmeg.

Richard J. Roach, 81, of Torrington, passed away on Sept. 24, in Torrington. He was born on Dec. 27, 1943, in Lynn, Massachusetts, and lived a life marked by service, devotion, and community involvement. Richard leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda Roach. He was the proud father of three daughters, Beth Gaudette, Amy Revere, and Erin Karpenko. Memorial contributions may be made to the winter homeless shelter at Trinity Episcopal Church.

Rita D Levy, 96, of Torrington passed away on Sept. 18. Rita was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Dr. Philip H. Levy. She is survived by her sons: Richard and wife Janice, Steven and wife Thomasina, and Dr. Lawrence and wife Joan; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Doreen (Sager) Barger, 94, died peacefully Sept. 14, with her family at her side. A nearly lifelong Torrington resident, she was born to the late Clarence Sager and Olive (Olivia) Larsen Sager. She is survived by four children, Gail Stieglitz, Glenn Barger, Karen McElroy, and Mike Barger; and 10 grandchildren. 

Lorraine L. Bartlett, 75, passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, in Torrington. Born Feb. 22, 1950. She leaves behind her loving daughters, her sister and best friend, Linda L. Mitchell, and her husband, Bruno R. Mitchell. Those who wish to honor her memory can make donations to Kitty Quarters. 

Claire Ann Holtman, 84, of Torrington passed away Sept. 10, at Cherry Brook, Canton. Claire Ann was born in Torrington on Oct. 19, 1940, son of the late Paul E. Toussaint, Sr., and Cecelia (Lestinsky) Toussaint, and had been a lifelong area resident. Survivors include her husband, Richard, children; Holly, Richard, and David R. Holtman; five grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew. 

Carol (Schmitt) Bottass, 71, passed away peacefully on Sept. 7, in her hometown of Torrington.
Born on Dec. 27, 1953, Carol was a devoted member of her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Bottass and leaves behind a daughter, Patricia Tartaglino-Monteri, and a son, Aldo Tartaglino, both residing in Torrington. Carol was also stepmother to Carrie Veronesi, Jana Bottass, and Kenneth Bottass. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren.

Randall “Randy” Osolin, 74, passed away on Sept. 25.  He was born on Feb. 6, 1951 in Sharon to the late Ramon and Barbara Osolin. He leaves his wife, Karen LaChance Osolin; brother Bruce Osolin.

THOMASTON
Geraldine "Gerry" (Fennelly) Daddona, 78, of Thomaston passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. Gerry was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on Oct. 25, 1946,  daughter of the late William and Dora (Brooks) Fennelly. She is survived by  her son, Charles Daddona & wife; daughter, Adriane Guerin and husband.  

Rebecca C. Nelson, 86, of Thomaston passed away on Sept. 30. She was the wife of the late Arthur I. Nelson. Rebecca was born in Waterbury on Jan. 26, 1939, daughter of the late John Chipman and Phyllis Oldenwald Chipman Packer. She was raised in Thomaston.

Harriet L. Knox, 86, of Thomaston, passed away, in the presence of family, on Sept. 16.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert, her children, Robert Knox, Paul Knox, Daniel Knox,and Sheena Knox. her sister, Lois Butteri; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends. 

Trina Marie Ashton, 51, of Thomaston, passed away unexpectedly at Waterbury Hospital on Sept. 14. She was the daughter of Wayne and Barbara (Richardson) Ashton.

Teresa (Legorano) Rinaldi, 72, of Thomaston, passed away Sept. 12, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Montesarchio, Benevento, Italy, on Feb. 12, 1953. After marrying her husband, Rocco, in 1974, the two of them made the courageous journey to the United States, in hopes of a better life to start and raise a family. Teresa leaves her two sons, Anthony Rinaldi, John Rinaldi; and her two grandchildren, Arianna and Rocco Rinaldi. 

Michael Nicholas Cervellino Sr., 82, of Thomaston, passed away unexpectedly Sept. 7, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Michael was born on May 31, 1943 in Patchogue, Long Island, NY. Besides his loving wife of 23 years, he leaves his children; Michael Cervellino III, Carmine Anthony Cervellino, Elizabeth Ann Cervellino Paradis, Christopher C. Cervellino. 

Jo-Ann Patricia Fields (Budris) 81, of Thomaston, passed away Sept. 3, peacefully, amidst her children and family, after a short battle with cancer. Jo-Ann was born in Waterbury on Nov. 8, 1943, to Edward and Helen Budris. She leaves behind two sons: Troy and Tom Fields; a brother; and several grandchildren,  great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

WINSTED
Ilse K. Chapin, 90, of Winsted, passed away peacefully Oct. 4. Born Oct. 25, 1934 in Wiebelskirchen, Germany; the daughter of Paul and Anna Boeckle. Ilse was a young medical transcriptionist with French and German language skills when she met her husband Donald Chapin. She is survived by a sister Lilo Pinkard; son, George Chapin; daughter, Caren Chapin Barker; grandchildren; Lisa Chapin (Jeremy Vermette); Michael Chapin (Shelby); great-grandchildren (Eleanor and Miles Chapin) along with many nieces and nephews. 

Elizabeth Germon, 83, of Winsted passed away unexpectedly Sept. 30, after a brief illness. 
Born April 1, 1942 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Salvatore and Roselia (Colombi) DiCara. She is survived by two beloved sons, Michael Germon and Roy Germon; cherished grandchildren, sister, Rose Mary Surdam, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

John A. Bridges, 55, of Winsted, passed away Sept. 29. He also leaves behind his siblings Lawson, Ruth, William, Denise, Andrew, and Jerry, as well as his nephews and nieces, and great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his mother, Linda Withee, with whom he shared a great bond to the very end. 

Lewis Xavier Centrella passed away Sept. 26, at his home in Riverton, Connecticut surrounded by his loving family. Born Oct. 26, 1944 in Winsted; the son of the late Louis and Germaine (Tardiff) Centrella. Lou worked as a Meatcutter for 45 years as well as owning a wallpaper and painting business. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Tracy Hoskins; his two sons, Mark and Brian Centrella and his cherished grandchildren. 

Nethaline Lillian (Stewart) Bottona, 89, of Winsted, passed away peacefully on Sept. 25, at HavenCare at Litchfield woods nursing home in Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Bottona. She was born in Winsted on June 22, 1936, the daughter of the late Eddy and Loretta Stewart. Nethaline leaves behind four children: Gene Bottona, Dave Bottona, Carol Gubetta,and Dolores Bottona;  and three grandchildren.

Steven M. Gibbons, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 6 in Winsted. He was born Aug. 26, 1958 in Malden, MA. He is survived by his children, Megan Gibbons, Frances Hawkins and Harrison Gibbons of New Hartford; 3 grandchildren, two siblings, and several nieces and nephews.
