Theresa, 59, of Goshen, passed away peacefully at her home on April 29 surrounded by family. Born on May 3, 1966, in Waterbury, Theresa was the daughter of the late Joyce and Ronald Corriveau. In addition to her husband, John, who stood by her side with unwavering love and support, she is survived by her two siblings, and a niece and a nephew.

 

Linda Woodman

Linda, 84, passed away on April 29, surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness. Born on June 13, 1941, Linda was born and raised in Goshen and lived in her childhood home her entire life. Linda was predeceased by her siblings William and Patricia, as well as her parents Henry and Edna Hageman.

 

LITCHFIELD

Alec George Waters

Alec, 66, passed away at his home on May 8. He was born on March 19, 1960 in Bantam. Alec is survived by his sons Nick and Dennis, as well as his two grandchildren. He also leaves behind two siblings, two more step siblings, and several step siblings. He was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth and father Ian.

 

Ann “MiMi” Correll

MiMi passed away unexpectedly on May 1, after a long battle with multiple ailments including kidney disease, heart disease and blindness. She was born in Litchfield and is predeceased by her parents John and Gertrude. MiMi leaves behind her daughters April and Melissa, as well as her granddaughter Wren. She is also survived by her brothers Ron and John.

 

Arthur “Art” Beach

Art, 68, passed away unexpectedly on April 29 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Art was born on Feb. 1, 1958 in Torrington to the late Richard and Carole. He leaves behind his wife Sandra, son James, and his siblings Tony, Rick, Kathy, Susan, and Carolyn. Art was predeceased by his parents, his son Arthur, and his brother Bruce.

 

Aveline “Babe” O’Dell Burpee

Babe, 95, passed away peacefully and comfortably in her beloved home on the river on April 20. She was born April 6, 1931 to Augusto and Zelunda Luzi in Bantam. Babe was predeceased by her two husbands Allen and Eugene, as well as her children Cynthia and Thomas. She is survived by her children, Joyce, Richard, Raymond, William, James, and Christopher. Babe also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

Betsy Grace Anderson

Betsy, 73, of Torrington, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on April 18 surrounded by loved ones. Betsy was born on Aug. 17, 1952, in Torrington. She is survived by siblings Eda, Ken, Roger, and Audrey, as well as many nieces and nephews. Betsy was predeceased by her parents John and Katherine, and her brother Robert.

 

J. Edward “Ed” Ducci

Ed, a lifelong resident of Litchfield and Torrington passed away peacefully on April 17 at the age of 98. Born in Torrington on Jan. 12, 1928, he was the son of the late John and Catherine. He was predeceased by his brother John, as well as two grandchildren and his former wife Lucille. Ed is survived by his sister Shirley, and his children Susan, Sharon, Debbie, and Jay. He also leaves behind several grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

THOMASTON

Frank Grozik

Frank, 87, passed away May 10 at Cook Willow Convalescent Home. He was born on June 11, 1939, in Terryville and was the son of the late John and Stephanie. Frank is survived by his son Jeffrey, his sister Irene, and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings Anna and Stephen.

 

Margaret “Peg” Cox

Peg, age 73, died on April 29. Peg was born in Thomaston to the late Fred and Lilian Lowther. She leaves behind her husband Allan, siblings Judy and Dave, and children Allan Jr. and Dan. Peg is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

 

Donald “Don” David Fuller

Don, 71, passed away on April 27. He was born in Thomaston and was the beloved husband of Brenda. Don was predeceased by his parents Revilo and Beatrice, as well as his brother Peter. He is survived by his siblings Susan, Margaret, and Timothy. Don also leaves behind several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Melissa Ruth Mancini

Melissa, 77, of Thomaston, passed away on April 16 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. Melissa was born on Dec. 6, 1948, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the beloved daughter of the late Philip and Edith Johnson. Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory besides her husband Nicola, are her children; Nick Jr. and Paula. Melissa is also survived by her five grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and several siblings, nieces, and nephews.

 

TORRINGTON

Grace H. Shaia

Grace, 83, of Torrington, passed away on May 12. Born on Oct. 21, 1942, in New Britain, Grace was the daughter of the late John and Mary Herman. She is survived by her children Paul and Mary Ann, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grace also leaves behind a brother and several nieces.

 

Joshua Tyler “Josh” Paniati

Josh, 37, passed away unexpectedly in his Torrington home on May 12. He was born and raised in Torrington on Jan. 22, 1989. He is survived by his parents Clayton and Linda, as well as his sister Alyssa. Josh also leaves behind his grandmother, cousins, aunts, and uncles, and close friends.

 

Jozef F. Stary

Jozef, 96, of Torrington, passed away on March 12. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 72 years, Stella. He leaves behind four children, eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Jozef was predeceased by five brothers.

 

Judith Ozzone

Judith, 79, of Torrington, passed away on May 8. She was born on July 31, 1946 in Torrington to John and Zena Hirchak. Judith is survived by her husband Joseph and their children Brian, Eric, and Kimberly. She also leaves behind several grandchildren.

 

Michael Driscoll

Michael, 69, passed away on May 6 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, surrounded by loved ones.

 

Blanche Stella Gardner

Blanche, 94, of Torrington, passed away on May 5. She was born in Torrington to Sophie and Zigmund Chrostowski on May 3, 1932. Besides her husband Robert, she was predeceased by her nine siblings, as well as her nephew Edward. She leaves behind dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

Lucile Merati

Lucile, 90, passed away on May 3. She was born on May 13, 1935, in Torrington and was the wife of James, and the daughter of the late John and Bertha Dusi. Lucille is survived by her son James, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by five siblings.

Edward "Stew" W. Stewart

Stew, 85, passed away May 10. He was born Sept. 17, 1940 in Washington. Stew leaves behind his children Jeffrey, Pamela, and Brian, as well as several grandchildren.

 

WINSTED

Mary Anne Manion

Mary Anne, 91, passed away on May 6. She was the daughter of the Late Leo and Margaret Stannard, and was born in Canaan on Oct. 13, 1934. Mary is survived by her son, Anthony, and three grandchildren.

 

Carolyn "Carrie" Borgman

Carrie, 63, of Winsted, passed away peacefully on April 29 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Dana. Carrie was born on Oct. 17, 1962, in Bangor, Maine, the cherished daughter of David and Marjorie Cox of Winsted. Carrie leaves behind three children and several siblings, grandchildren, and nieces.

 

Timothy “Tim” O’Connor

Tim, 75, passed away peacefully at his home on May 5. He was born in Winsted on Nov. 13, 1950. He is survived by his four children. Tim also leaves behind several siblings and grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters, his parents, and his brother.
