Sweet Start to the Holiday Season
St. Louis de Montfort Parish hosted its annual Christmas Cookie Fair on Saturday, December 2, at St. Thomas of Villa Nova Church. It was a sweet success. St. Louis de Montfort Parish parishioners from St. Thomas of Villa Nova (Goshen), Our Lady of Grace (Bantam), and St. Anthony of Padua (Litchfield) Churches were asked to baked 10 dozen or a double batch of their favorite Christmas cookie or candy recipes. Customers, traveling from parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York, started lining up as early as 7 AM for an opportunity to have first pick of their favorite holiday treats.
Customers received a cardboard boxes and gloves upon entering Donahue Hall. They filled their boxes with their favorite cookies and candies as they snaked their way passed several tables full of holiday goodies. Thousands of cookies and candies were sold. Dolores Marshall, a parishioner of St. Thomas of Villa Nova Church, headed up the committee that organized the Christmas Cookie Fair. All funds go to St. Louis de Montfort Parish for community outreach.
