With municipal elections nearly upon us, The Goshen News has again partnered with the Litchfield County League of Women Voters to provide a platform for candidates in selected races. Together, we developed a list of basic questions which Goshen News Staff writers asked the candidates for 1st Selectman in Goshen (pg. 8), Litchfield (p. 14), and Thomaston (p. 7), and the Torrington mayoral candidates (p.13).

Interviews were edited and condensed for length, but not for meaning or intent, and the words are all the candidates’ own. It is our sincere hope that readers will find these interviews helpful in determining which candidate will best serve them and their towns’ needs.

Municipal elections have the most direct impact on our daily lives. We hope all readers will take the time to review the issues, positions, and qualifications of the candidates, and exercise the solemn responsibility of every citizen to vote.
